URGENT RALLY ACTION!!! JOIN ATLI, Long Island Progressive Coalition and Long Island Save Our Healthcare Alliance to Stand Against the Graham Cassidy ACA Bill!!
BACKGROUND:
Republicans are scrambling to push this bill through by their September 30th deadline and we must stop them from getting the votes they need! Let's make the public aware that they are trying to sneak yet another unpopular and disastrous bill through while no one is watching!!
This horrendous bill:
•Will throw 32 million people off their insurance over the next 10 years
•Will hurt the elderly , the disabled, children and low income families
•Will repeal the individual and employer mandates leading to less coverage and higher premiums
•Will end ACA subsidies by 2020 leaving 11 million low income people without healthcare coverage
•Insurers will be allowed to charge seniors 5 x the amount younger people are charged
•Will allow insurers to charge people with pre existing conditions and chronic illnesses much more making their care unaffordable
•Will allow states to determine what qualifies as an essential health benefit putting ambulatory and maternity care coverage in jeopardy
•Will halt funds to Planned Parenthood leaving many without the care they rely on.
SOUND FAMILIAR?! We've seen this before. This is not compromise . This is another disgraceful bill that will hurt millions of people around the country if we allow it to pass.
Keep calling senate republicans to oppose the bill and join us for this rally to make people aware that their healthcare is in jeopardy once again. We must not let this bill pass! KILL THE BILL!!
