City Council: Make Ann Arbor a True Sanctuary City!

You are needed at the Ann Arbor City Council meeting on Monday, May 1st! We will call on our city council to declare Ann Arbor a SANCTUARY CITY and to put in place further protections for our undocumented family, friends and neighbors!

On April 3rd, Ann Arbor took an important step towards protecting undocumented residents by passing a "Don't Ask" ordinance. This ordinance prohibits the Ann Arbor police and other city employees from asking about immigration status (with a few narrow exceptions).

On May 1st the city council will consider a resolution containing further protections.

At the heart of these protections must be our city's REFUSAL TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY WAY WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S PERSECUTION OF UNDOCUMENTED PEOPLE.

Our city council should boldly and openly declare Ann Arbor a sanctuary city and put specific protections into place to separate local government from federal immigration enforcement.

Please attend and speak out at the city council meeting on Monday. The most passionate and dedicated supporters of undocumented people must push the council to lead on this issue.
