In a cultural moment where fear and othering is being stoked around immigrants, how is it that we remember that immigration is one of the more common experience that define who we are?

Join Emergent Savannah at our upcoming Monday Means Community, The Common Root: Immigration Stories at Home in Savannah, an evening of storytelling that showcases the rooted history of immigration as the building blocks of Savannah’s specific culture.

Featuring:

Krystal Sanchez, 2017 Deep Laureate
Reverend. Deacon Leeann Calbreath, Episcopal Diocese of GA
Jimmy Buttimer
Hossein Motlagh

Hosted by Diego Garcia of Savannah Undocumented Youth Alliance.

The event will be around 60-minutes, followed by a Q/A. After the event, we will head over to a soon to be announced venue for drinks and further conversation.

So join us for this discussion on March 13th, at The Sentient Bean, 7:00PM SHARP. You’ll see just some of the people coming together to create community in the larger world and learn about some ways that you can be a bigger part of what Savannah's future is going to look like.
