#DisabilityStrikesBack in the streets!

We are calling on all Americans with #disabilities (including chronic and acute illnesses), as well as our allies, friends, colleagues, and family, to mobilize on Friday, February 17th in solidarity with the nationwide #GeneralStrike.

Through hostile actions such as the #ACARepeal (endorsed by Trump's Executive Order, as well as by majority votes in both the Senate and the House); the appointment of Tom Price---an individual with an aggressively anti-ACA agenda---for HHS; and the appointment of Betsy DeVos----a wealthy socialite who has displayed staggering ignorance regarding such policies as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and who intends to dismantle public education as a whole in America, the Trump administration has repeatedly affirmed its eugenicist and anti-disability stance.

This eugenicist and anti-disability stance is, in turn, part of a broader agenda on the part of Trump's authoritarian regime to discriminate against and oppress people of color, immigrants, refugees, women, LGBTQ+ people, native people, and poor people.

Join us at the Old Courthouse in STL at 4PM on Friday, February 17th in a display of solidarity with our fellow marginalized groups.

We will deliver a coffin to a symbolic Downtown location in order to figuratively bury Ableism and, with it, the discriminatory and oppressive capitalist health care system of the United States of America.

Everyone is encouraged to bring signs and musical instruments. Please do invite your allies, friends, neighbors, family, and colleagues. We must come together and #resist as a community.
