We will be hosting a postcard writing event for the Ides of Trump campaign.
"ON MARCH 15TH, 2017 EACH OF US WILL MAIL THE WHITE HOUSE A POSTCARD THAT PUBLICLY EXPRESSES OUR VOCAL OPPOSITION TO THE NEW PRESIDENT. AND WE, IN VAST NUMBERS, FROM ALL CORNERS OF THE WORLD, WILL OVERWHELM WASHINGTON."
We will have postcards available for you to fill out or you can bring in your own. They don't need to be specific postcards, any drug store postcard will do just fine. Have your family, friends, coworkers, or neighbors write their own and just drop them off here, we will be happy to mail them on the 15th for you. Write whatever you would like to say to the new POTUS, the only rule is no mention of violence, threats of violence, or insinuation of violence. You can be angry, but keep it civil!
This event will also serve as a charity drive for New Beginnings, a Seattle based non-profit organization that provides services to those whose lives have been affected by domestic violence - physical, emotional and sexual abuse. We are asking that participants consider donating gift cards for Safeway, QFC, Fred Meyer, or Target. From their administrative director, "These cards are like gold to the people we serve and offers an opportunity for each family to meet their specific needs."
Also, there will be snacks!
