March for Medicare for All in Valpo

Porter County Courthouse

July 24, 2017,
6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Organizers: Blue Valpo

Join Porter County residents in downtown Valpo to speak up for our belief that healthcare should be a human right, not a privilege in America.

We will march around the courthouse square (on the sidewalk ONLY) in solidarity with millions of others across the country in support of Medicare for All.

Right now, our healthcare system is under threat by an administration that wants to cut Medicaid by 35% over the next 20 years, causing 23 million people to lose their health coverage by 2026. Across the country, Americans have begun to stand up and speak out about this attempt to destroy our humanity when we need the most help.

The current proposals in Congress that would eliminate equitable access to health insurance reveals the burden and fear that comes with losing it. Even in our current system, millions of Americans are being left behind, and the time has come for all of us to stand together and demand better.

We are a collective of everyday Americans, taking the streets to demand that access to quality care be expanded to all people regardless of income. We chant “healthcare is a human right” as we change the 'business as usual' mentality that holds our health and wellbeing captive to a healthcare model that places profits over people.
