March for Science - Palm Beach County

Dreher Park
1301 Summit Blvd
West Palm Beach, FL 33405
United States
April 22, 2017,
12:00 pm to 6:00 pm

We the people of Palm Beach County rise to stand with our friends in STEM fields, with our local environment, and with our global climate. The reduction of critical tax-funded research, coupled with the restriction imposed on scientists from communicating their findings, is a direct threat to all those who value empirical research and data.

We are calling upon you to march with us in support of our scientific communities and of evidence based, peer reviewed findings which cannot be denied:

-The Earth is becoming warmer due to human action.
-The diversity of life arose by evolution.
-Politicians who devalue expertise risk making decisions that do not reflect reality and must be held accountable.
- An American government that ignores science to pursue ideological agendas endangers the world.

We will rally at the park and then begin marching towards Mar-a-Lago. More details to follow in time.

What to bring: Dress comfortably for the weather. If possible, wear a blue or green shirt, or a white lab coat. Personal drinking water in a re-usable, recyclable container. A sign expressing your solidarity (which you will either take with you as you go or donate for future events). Please no smoking or alcohol at this event.
