On March 28, a 17-year-old Virginia boy named Gavin Grimm, represented by the ACLU, was set to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to recognize his right to an education free from sex discrimination, including the right to use a bathroom that aligns with his gender identity. Unfortunately, as a direct result of the Trump administration's decision to rescind federal guidance on the rights of transgender students at school, the U.S. Supreme Court remanded Gavin Grimm’s case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Despite the fact that the Supreme Court will not be hearing Gavin’s case in March, THE RALLY IS STILL ON. It's more important than ever that we stand together and fight for comprehensive nondiscrimination protection at the local, state, and federal level.
