Michigan Solidarity & Defense has been putting into practice the idea of community self-defense. They will be in town to give a talk on what this looks like and their experiences with it.

Community self-defense means workplace defense organizations. It requires encouraging and embracing many people and organizations from churches and mosques, unions and student groups, LGBTQI groups and street organizations in a common effort.

It means building working-class defense organizations that resist racist attacks, sexual assault, ICE raids and deportations, police brutality and state repression.

It means a spirit of solidarity. It means us having an understanding of what we are up against and what it will take to win.
