Show up for justice, show up to openly recognize, show up in community solidarity! Too many trans women of color are being targeted and killed for trying to live and thrive authentically.
This rally is a response to a national call-to-action to celebrate, affirm, and protect trans women of color. We want to engage the public in a conversation about ways to protect trans women of color, build movements that include the leadership of trans women of color, and expand our political platforms so that they reflect the intersecting issues that trans women of color face here in the South. We see this rally as the first step to creating a Charleston where trans women of color have the right to safety and opportunity right here at home, as our city has not seen an event like this before.
There will be 4 speakers, the mic will then be opened to the public for folks to share in the public conversation with poetry, spoken-word, song, and personal testimony.
