Rise with Standing Rock - Native Nations March on Lansing

110 N Capitol Ave
Lansing, MI 48933
United States
March 10, 2017,
2:00 pm to 7:00 pm

We invite you to answer the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and Indigenous grassroots leader’s call to Rise with Standing Rock and join the Native Nations march and action at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing, Michigan on March 10th, 2017.

It is an undisputed fact that throughout the collective and individual history of the indigenous people of this continent that indigenous rights, voices, and ambitions have been systematically overlooked, ignored, or outright violated for a multitude of reasons. Moreover, the latest actions enacted by the individual who holds the highest executive office in the United States government in response to the legitimate concerns of an indigenous tribe foreshadow an even grimmer future for the indigenous peoples of this land. Given these foreboding circumstances, and in response to the call of our fellow relatives, it is imperative at this present time to harmonize our voices in powerful prayerful action.

Our action is best expressed by the words of those who initiated this: “We are Tribal Nations and grassroots Indigenous communities (and their allies) rising to the call set forth by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to defend our inherent rights to protect Unci Maka and our water: Mni Wiconi.”

On that day we desire to pray together, listen to speakers, lobby our representatives, and display a show of unity. Let the world see us and let history record that we came together on this day.
