For decades presidents have released their tax returns. Trump refused to release his during the presidential campaign citing a "routine audit" even though legally that still allows one to publish them. A partial tax return leaked shows trump not paying any federal income tax for 18 years. He has broken his promise that he would release them after the audit because he thinks the American people do not care about his taxes.
