Tennessee Stories Project: Conversations About Abortion Workshop

March 18, 2017,
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Too frequently when people who support abortion access talk about abortion it's purely political and black and white. We don't always talk about the complicated feelings people have about their abortions or our own values around abortion. The goals of this workshop are:

-To increase comfort talking about abortion with different groups of people.
-Learn how to talk about abortion in a way that affirms individual experiences and promotes empathy.
-Explore the range of values around abortion and how our values impact our work.
-Learn more about your peers in this group & their beliefs.
-Examine how frequently we use cis-normative language when talking about abortion and how we can be more inclusive.

The workshop will be held at the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center (316 W. Side Row) from 2pm-4pm. Registration is required for the workshop.

This workshop is for people who are already supportive of access to abortion.
