At 5 PM on March 27th at their commission meeting, the West Palm Beach mayor and city commission will be announcing their stance on the adoption of a Safe City Ordinance. The ordinance would indicate the city's refusal to cooperate with ICE (immigration) officials in their attempts to collect and deport innocent undocumented immigrants as part of Con-Man-In-Chief Donald Trump’s plan to whitewash the United States of America. Despite the obvious fact of these immigrants being living, breathing people in search of a better life for themselves and their families, the contributions that immigrants bring to our society are irreplaceable and invaluable.
We will gather in support, welcome, and gratitude towards our immigrant brothers and sisters. Our demand is for the commission to agree to this ordinance (and NOT a resolution, which is no more than a gesture of good faith with zero legal enforceability) and show that they, like us, are willing to protect and fight for these innocent people.
