Three black civilian male teenagers were murdered in the Algiers Motel in the early hours of July 26, 1967. Nine other people, two white females and seven other black males, were found severely beaten. These murders, committed by members of the Detroit Police Department, the Michigan National Guard, and Michigan State Police, were never resolved, and members of law enforcement who were charged with the killings and other abuses, were never convicted.
Join us on Tuesday, July 25 at 6 p.m. in The Wright Museum's General Motors Theater for a panel discussion about the horrifying and tragic murders that took place during the Detroit #67Rebellion.
