November 8th marks a year since the election of #45 as President and 2018 midterm elections will be hotly contested. Join the Resist Reimagine Rebuild Coalition for a conversation with Rukia Lumumba and Alderman Carlos Rosa about the relationship between movement building and progressive electoral strategies. What Chicago can learn from recent races in Birmingham, Jackson, and St. Louis? And what are the pitfalls of building electoral campaigns without building movements? 

Local activists will join the conversation to reflect on the #ByeAnitacampaign that unelected the previous State's Attorney.

Rukia Lumumba was co-manager of Chokwe Antar Lumumba's historic race in Jackson, Mississppi. She will offer lessons from that victory and Ald. 

Carlos Rosa is a committed progressive with strong ties to grassroots movements in Chicago. He will share his politcal experiences.
