Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a grassroots, non-partisan organization working to inspire members of Congress to be leaders for a sustainable climate. Elizabeth Dell, Great Lakes Regional Coordinator with CCL, and Jim Crissman, Midland Chapter Leader, will share how CCL volunteers have been successful in building bipartisan support for climate solutions, including the 40 member House Bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus. They'll also discuss forming a 16th CCL Michigan chapter in Saginaw.

CCL volunteers advocate for Carbon Fee and Dividend which would put a steadily rising fee on fossil fuels and return the net revenues to American households as a monthly dividend check. This fee would send a clear market signal discouraging fossil fuel use, and the dividend would protect lower and middle income families from rising energy costs. In fact, about 2/3 of American households would break even or receive more from their dividend check than they would pay in higher prices.
