For decades, immigrants have endured an onslaught of negative messaging through press coverage, political rhetoric and violent groups being on the rise in recent years.
Rather than let this national white supremacist dialogue define the perception and treatment of immigrants locally, SAfER, a CALC program G.L.A.D, and City Wide M.E.Ch.A seeks to set a tone of respect and value for immigrants.
On May 1, 2017, we are calling on all residents of Lane County to join us. We hope you will join us for a day-long celebration of the enormous contributions immigrants make to our region and show them our community supports them. We want our communities to come together and unite to show we are not afraid anymore.
We will be meeting at the New Eugene Federal Courthouse so come march with us.
