American Promise is spearheading a 50-state Citizen Uprising with one goal: the 28th Amendment to the Constitution that sets reasonable limits on election spending and protects the rights for human beings over privileges for global corporations and special interests. The Uprising will be most intense leading up the 2018 elections, and citizens of Nevada have an important role to play in ratification.
In 2017, three bills [SJR4, AB272, SB94] have already been introduced in the Nevada statehouse concerning Democracy Reform. To make sure these bills pass, please join American Promise, PLAN Nevada, and Public Citizen at the Democracy Reform Lobby Day on April 3rd, 2017.
This is an all-day action event, which will include a breakfast, lobby training and Keynote Speaker Jeff Clements, President of American Promise and Author of "Corporations Are Not People: Reclaiming Democracy from Big Money and Global Corporations," from 9am-11am. Shortly after the training, Jeff Clements and many others will be walking to the statehouse for meetings with state legislators.
