Fill the Room in Opposition of "Personhood"- Full Committee

S.217, a bill which would grant full legal rights to a fertilized egg, will be before the Senate Judiciary full committee on May 2nd.

By defining “personhood” from the moment of fertilization, before pregnancy has occurred, this bill would:

1). Outlaw widely used and effective hormonal contraceptive methods, like the pill and IUDs;
2). Restrict the use of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and other fertility treatments;
3). Subject a woman who suffers pregnancy-related complications or miscarriage to extensive criminal investigation and jail time or potential charges of reckless endangerment or homicide; and
4). Ban abortion.

Such outcomes would deprive individuals control over their fertility and deprive a woman control over her body. Help us fill the room in opposition of this harmful legislation.

We will be wearing vote NO stickers so that Senators will know our position. However, public testimony will not be occuring at the meeting.
