At 9:30am on November 9, GW students will walk out as part of a nationwide day of school walkouts and actions to DEMAND that Congress protect undocumented youth and Dreamers. United We Dream, the largest immigrant youth-led organization in the nation, is calling on people of conscience to join this day of action.
First, we will rally at Kogan Plaza.
Then, we will march and then ride the metro to Union Station (metrocards and snacks will be provided), where we will join thousands of immigrant youth, activists, and students from multiple DMV school walkouts to demand that Congress pass a "clean" Dream Act by December.
November 9 marks over two months since Trump ended DACA, and one year since he was elected and began implementing his anti-immigrant agenda. If nothing is done, nearly 1,000 immigrant youth will lose their work permits and protections from deportation EVERY DAY. Make no mistake, NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT.
