We are inviting all immigrant youth ready to take action in their communities for the overall improvement of the quality of life of their communities. This program is designed as a collaborative space where current organizers and participants will learn about the history of immigration in the United States and highlight the current systemic issues affecting our immigrant communities, no matter their legal status. Along with the history and our presence today as immigrants or from a family of immigrants, we will explore the intersectionalities that exist between us and our neighbors fighting against the system oppression on race, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender, and more!
If you are an immigrant youth concerned about our current political climate, how it affects our families, and how we can take action now to influence our futures, please register for the Indiana Youth Empowerment Program (YEP)! To learn more about other states working with youth, visit https://www.nysylc.org/
This event is FREE! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided!
Once registered, our program coordinators will send all details regarding parking, building location on Purdue campus, and more!
Please register as an individual OR as a group. If you are an educator wanting to bring a group of students, please register as a group and email Dara Marquez at dmarquez@iuya.org with any questions or concerns!
