On January 21st, the country and world saw a mass mobilization of women and allies, who gathered in solidarity to reject reactionary politics. We wish to provide a platform for politically radical, intersectional, working class women and femmes, especially who are historically and currently marginalized, on this year's International Women's Day.
With the goal of educating agitating & organizing, we will gather at Logan Square at 5pm, where we will have several speakers. From there, we will march to Thomas Paine Plaza, stopping at several locations to show solidarity with those who work in traditionally women dominated industries. At Thomas Paine Plaza, we will have a closing rally and action. We are currently looking to have a discussion on intersectional and inclusive feminist issues and topics at a nearby indoor venue afterwards.
If your group is interested in providing a speaker(s) or be a part of the organizing process, please contact us. We are prioritizing applications from groups representing women and femmes of color, and trans+ women and femmes. We will be focusing on local organizers and activists, and will not have politicians speak at this event. This event will be trans+ and sex worker inclusive.
