Wife of Detained Iraqi Christian Immigrant Kamiran Taymour

7-8:30 p.m.

Kamiran Taymour is an Ann Arbor husband, father of three US-born children in the Ann Arbor Public Schools, and business owner.
He was arrested by ICE on Sunday, June 11th at their home in Ann Arbor during the immigration raids against Iraqi Christians in Metro Detroit.
Kam is now in a detention facility in Youngstown, Ohio, awaiting a life-or-death decision by the courts.
Will Kam be allowed to return to his family in Ann Arbor, or be deported to Iraq—a country he has not set foot in since he was a youth—and be the target of anti-Christian violence?
Come to a discussion with Caroline Taymour about her husband’s dangerous journey to escape Iraq, including the torture of Kamiran’s father by the Saddam Hussein regime, his family’s time in a refugee camp, and their eventual success in emigrating to the US. We will discuss actions that Ann Arbor residents can take to help this family before it is too late.
