Co-hosted by CLUE (Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice), Los Altos UMC and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Long Beach, this important afternoon will offer detailed information on what “sacred resistance” and/or “being a place of sanctuary” means and looks like today in our community. The training is designed to address three urgent questions:
1. What does it mean for a congregation to become a sanctuary congregation?
2. What are possible contributions for congregations not yet ready to declare sanctuary?
3.What is the rapid response network and how does an individual or congregation participate?
This will be an interfaith event and all are invited to attend. Rev. Alexia Salvatierra, author of Faith Rooted Organizing and one of the foremost leaders in the Sanctuary Movement will be leading the session.
Please let us know if you can join us for this important training. Refreshments will be provided.
