We are asking Houston to RISE UP for Indigenous People, Sacred lands, Future Generations, and Mother Earth!
Cities across the U.S., such as Washington D.C., Denver, San Francisco, Lafayette, Phoenix, and so many more are standing up to refuse the governments interference with sacred lands across the U.S.!
The government is not only disrespecting the land of the Standing Rock tribe, but many across the nation & are planning to infringe upon the rights of even more indigenous people and their lands. This march aims to show them we are watching, aware, and won't take this treatment!
Our Demands:
#TakeTheMeeting // President Trump must meet with tribal leaders to hear why it’s critical that the US government respect tribal rights. This administration must work with us.
#ConsentNotConsultation // Tribal interests cannot continue to be marginalized in favor of the interests of corporations and other governments. Consultation is not enough– we must require consent.
#NativeNationsRise // The Standing Rock movement is bigger than one tribe. It has evolved into a powerful global phenomenon highlighting the necessity to respect Indigenous Nations and their right to protect their homelands, environment and future generations.
Event Rules:

-No weapons
-No masks
-No drugs
-No talk of violence, hate speech, or threats, this will not be tolerated.
-Bring water, signs, drums, medicine, and anything else we may need to make our voices heard and LOUD.
-If there are any Indigenous people who would like to speak, pray, or lead, please feel free to contact Madi May so a note can be made and scheduled. Having you there to lead in prayer and words will be an honor.

The event will take place on the sidewalk in front of the company headquarters responsible for funding the Dakota Access Pipeline (1300 Main St, Houston, TX 77002) & will continue to City Hall.
