New York City Public Advocate Tish James has announced a Public Hearing on Climate Change on November 29th. New York City has an important role to play on climate and we’re making this our city’s time to DIVEST FROM FOSSIL FUELS.
On the 5th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, 5,000 people joined together to remember the victims of the storm and rose up to demand New York City take bold climate action, including divestment.
The New York City pension funds currently pour billions of our public funds into oil, gas and pipeline corporations – the very same corporations fueling storms like Superstorm Sandy and Harvey, Maria and Irma, whose business model will drown our city if we don’t stop them.
Join us for a rally before the hearing at 8:30 am and help us pack the hearing room at 9:30.
