Tonight the Muslim community is mourning the passing of Nabra, a 17 year old young woman from Sterling, VA. Nabra was beaten to death with a baseball bat and left in a pond after going missing while walking to a mosque with her friends in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 18th 2017. At 3pm her remains were discovered in 21500 block of Ridgetop Circle in Fairfax, VA. The suspect, 22 year old Darwin Martinez Torres is currently under arrest for her murder.

While the incident has yet to be labeled a hate crime, right now in America, Black Muslim women, especially those from marginalized communties are continuosly targeted and attacked with mallicious intent. Hate crime against Muslim Americans is at its highest point with more than 67% increase since 2016. This murder is yet another wake up call in the chain of events of Muslim women viciously attacked in hate crimes across the country.

Join us as we pray for Nabra, her family and stand against violence towards Muslim American women.
