Join us for a screening of the documentary 13th: in this thought provoking documentary, scholars, activists and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the US prison boom. We will have a panel of our own community activists and a mixture of elected leaders and those seeking office to discuss how we can collectively fight against a criminal justice system designed to oppress racial minorities, especially African Americans.
Before the movie begins we'll have a brief discussion and following the screening we'll have a longer conversation with a focus on changes we can make in our communities to create a better the criminal justice system for everyone.
Feel free to invite everyone you know, we will be announcing our panelists soon as well as the refreshments that will be provided.
