A day before International Day in Solidarity with Victims of Torture:
JOIN US IN MIAMI TO PROTEST AGAINST TRUMP AND HIS TORTURE PRISON.
Donald Trump has said he wants to revive and expand US use of torture. On Guantanamo, he said he wants to keep the prison open and "load it up with some bad dudes". Now, more than ever, is the time for us to stand against these crimes against humanity. President Obama broke his promise - 41 men remain imprisoned at Guantanamo. A powerful movement against torture and illegal detention is their best chance for justice.
Fifteen years ago, the United States brought the first detainees to Guantanamo Bay. The detention center has since then become a place of torture and shame. Released detainees claimed that waterboarding, sexual humiliation, and forced drugging were used on prisoners. Six detainees have committed suicide.
Join us in Miami on this terrible anniversary as we march to the headquarters of Southern Command, the center that operates Guantanamo Bay military base and detention center, and demand that fifteen years of torture and shame come to an end!
