For those who cannot attend the interfaith service- please join us anyway on the silent walk from downtown Grinnell to Brownells. Gather at the UCC church by 3:15 pm.
The walk will be single or double file, silent, law abiding, respectful and peaceful.
This walk is not a protest- it is witness. It is a funeral procession and remembrance of those killed or wounded in gun violence. Once all have arrived across the street from Brownells we will stand in silent witness for ten minutes or so. Rides for those for whom the walk may be difficult will be provided, and all walkers will will be provided rides back to the UCC church.
No protest signs, please. Do consider signs that remember someone you love, or have gun violence statistics. Also consider wearing black. Clergy are invited to vest. Wear warm clothes.
