The Historic Sonora Opera Hall will be the sight of a free concert and expo in celebration of Earth Day on Saturday, April 22nd from 11 AM until 7 PM. The theme for the event will be Connecting and Weaving Our Culture and Environment Together. The free concert and expo, sponsored by the Unity Spiritual Center will feature music, dance, art, vendors and information booths. TUD Board member, anthropologist and forester Barbara Balen will be the keynote speaker.
“Our theme is a local and worldwide issue. How do we integrate ourselves with our environment in a sustainable way.” says organizer and MC Mark Dyken. “No matter where you stand on climate change or environmental issues, I think we can all agree we must have balance between growth and sustainability. We must act together to ensure a healthy planet for future generations.”
The concert will feature a variety of music from folk and Americana to rock. The lineup includes The Risky Biscuits, Big Phaddy, Old Pony, Gregory Cain and The Co-motion Dancers.
