12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Greater Boston area high schools and colleges will be joining togeather in solidarity with the national student day of resistance on March 1st in protesting the rhetoric and policies of the new Trump administration. High school students will be walking out of school at 12 and coming together on the commons. From there we will listen to some speeches and march. This is not a protest of our education, but rather a recognition of our civic duty to resist.

This page is the Boston specific event for the national March 1st Day of Action.

We view the dangerous policies and actions of the Trump administration as a direct attack on us and our communities. As students, the appointment of Betsy DeVos and the education policies of the Trump administration represent a direct threat to our public eduction. As youth, the anti-climate, anti-science, anti-EPA stance of the administration represents a direct threat to our futures and the enviroment. As women, Muslims, LGBTQ+, immigrants and people of color the Trump administration has continued and exacerbated a long history of structural oppression. Not only have the policies of the Trump administration directly attacked us, but the rhetoric of the administration has lead to a measureable and statistically relevant rise in hate crimes across the US.

The resistance is rising! Protest is working! Nation-wide protest have already throughly embarrassed and stretched thin the Trump administration. As students we must join the resistance, and come together as a coalition. We must keep up the pressure! We ask anyone and everyone to join us on the commons
