Florida and three other states still have a lifetime ban on voting for people with felony convictions who have already paid their debt to society. These are our family members, friends, and neighbors — and they are permanently deprived of the ability to fully participate in how their own communities are governed.
Over 1.68 million people are disenfranchised under current law in Florida. It’s time to change that and ensure our voting laws are consistent with our values.
Join us at in Clearwater at this year's city of Clearwater Diversity Day, Friday, Sept. 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Station Square Park.
Meet your host, Jan Shelly from People Power, to get petitions and talking points.
