At 5 PM on March 27th at their commission meeting, the West Palm Beach mayor and city commission will be announcing their stance on the adoption of a Safe City Resolution and/or Ordinance. This resolution and/or ordinance would indicate the city's refusal to cooperate with ICE (immigration) officials in their attempts to collect and deport innocent undocumented immigrants and break up families of hard working people who contribute in so many ways to our communities.
PLEASE PLAN ON JOINING WOMEN'S MARCH FLORIDA IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SEIU AND SOUTH FLORIDA ACTIVISM, as we gather in support, welcome, and gratitude towards our immigrant brothers and sisters. Our demand is for the commission to agree to this ordinance (and NOT a resolution, which is no more than a gesture of good faith with zero legal enforceability) and show that they, like us, are willing to protect and fight for these innocent people.
