Chispa AZ

Chispa, which means “spark” in Spanish, is a program of the League of Conservation Voters. Based in the Phoenix, Arizona area, Chispa launched in July 2014 to ensure that Latino families and community leaders are well informed about electricity generation and what is behind the light switch in our homes. The Chispa team will be knocking on doors, calling neighbors, hosting house meetings and attending community events to talk with people about electricity and energy – and in the process, cultivate new grassroots leaders, build a strong activist base in Maricopa County, and create opportunities for leaders to protect our air and support investments in clean energy. Through this intensive grassroots campaign, Latino customers will urge their utilities and government officials to clean up the air we breathe, and to invest in clean energy like solar and wind power, for our health, our air, and our future.
